Greece is one of the top summer destinations in all of Europe because of its tourist attractions and beaches. The majority of these beaches are in Mykonos. It’s a haven for beaches whether you looking to swim or sunbathe or engage in water sports.
With a growing number of visitors yearly, beaches in Mykonos now have seafront hotels. Some facilities can accommodate large groups and families. These facilities exist without compromising beach sand space and crystal clear waters.
It does not matter if you are in the southern or northern part of the island, you’d always find beautiful beaches. Those in the northern area are particularly less crowded.
Here’s a list of the best beaches in Mykonos if you are looking for one to visit during your next vacation.
1. Paradise Beach
Located in the heart of Southern Mykonos is Paradise Beach. It’s a party beach beaming with life at all times. Bars are only a few distances shy of the beach sand and you can party long into the night if so wish.
Buses convey people from Mykonos town to paradise Beach and back, so don’t be in a hurry to leave the party.
Everyone goes to paradise Beach, straight people and those that are not!
2. Ornos Beach
Very few beaches in Mykonos have lovelier surroundings and tavernas than Ornos Beach. This tourist haven is 3km south of the amazing Chora.
Of all the beaches in Mykonos, Ornos Beach is the most family-friendly. It’s got great hotels, restaurants and an ocean view to die for.
3. Platys Gialos Beach
This is the number one beach destination in the whole of Mykonos. It’s got a touch of everything you are looking for; great hotels, top-notch restaurants, bars, an amazing night party life, and so much more.
If you wish to take a break from all of the fun, you can always pay a visit to the mini-market and shop for a few things. There is a direct bus to Mykonos town and water taxis that head straight to Super Paradise Beach and a host of other beaches.
4. Elia Beach
This is the largest beach on the island. 5 to 6 buses on the Mykonos town-Elia Beach route per day in the high seasons. Boat services also exist if you wish to visit other beaches while you are on the island. There’s a lot of space for everyone including your rental cars.
If you need to move around without clothes, Elia Beach is the best place to do so.
5. Super Paradise Beach
This is an ever-vibrant beach. It’s got 2 to 3 bars where you can enjoy a few drinks while you take in the beach’s phenomenal views. Unfortunately, buses do not go to Super Paradise Beach from Mykonos Town. But there are boat services from Paradise and Platys Gialos beaches.
If you’ve got a thing for ‘men’, this is the beach for you. You’d find all you are looking for and so much more.
6. Agrari Beach
This beach is very close to Elia but is not as busy. Agrari beach is perfect for people who want to enjoy a beach atmosphere that is devoid of noise and other shenanigans. Located on the island’s southeastern part, you’ll only need to walk for 15 minutes to get to the beach’s main area.
Agragri beach has one restaurant and you’ll need to rent a car if you choose to stay here.
7. Paraga Beach
Our list of the best beaches in Mykonos will not be complete without the addition of the Paraga beach. It is 6km southeast of the main Mykonos town. While things may get busy real fact on this beach, it is hard to miss the incredible views on display. The beach has a lot of restaurants and different cuisines to enjoy. Hotels are very easy to come by and they are affordable too.
The club life of this beach is its most eye-catching feature. You can party long into the night because there’ll always be people around doing to same. If you want it, there is a direct bus from Mykonos town to Paraga beach.
